Piotrków Kujawski is an urban-rural municipality in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, located in Radziejów County. The history of the municipality dates back to 1867, when the Piotrkowo municipality was established in the Kingdom of Poland. Over the years, the municipality has witnessed numerous administrative changes, such as the incorporation of Radziejów and the transformation of municipal units. Currently, the municipality covers an area of 138.62 km², 83% of which is agricultural land. In 2004, the municipality was inhabited by 9,645 people. Piotrków Kujawski is rich in historical monuments, including a 19th-century manor complex in Leszcze, a 16th-century parish church dedicated to St. James, and a manor complex in Piotrków Kujawski itself. An interesting fact is the presence of a prehistoric settlement in Jurków, which provides evidence of continuous habitation from the Neolithic period to the Middle Ages. The municipality is surrounded by neighboring communes such as Bytoń, Kruszwica, and Radziejów, and its demographic and cultural structure reflects the centuries-old history of the region.
