wikipedia
Pogorzelica is a picturesque holiday village in the Szczecin Coastland, situated on the Baltic Sea in the Gryfice district of West Pomeranian Voivodeship, with a coastline encompassing 200 meters of sandy beach. The settlement consists of two former localities: Neu-Eiersberg and Fischerkaten, and its history dates back to before 1945. In 1947, the village was officially named Pogorzelica, referring to a fire that destroyed the region. A significant architectural landmark is the historic Narrow-Gauge Seaside Railway station from the turn of the 20th century, where tourist trains operate on the Gryfice–Pogorzelica route, which is an attraction for visitors. The village also has a filial church in Niechorze, built in the 1990s. Pogorzelica is part of a habitat and bird protection area, making it an attractive destination for nature lovers and eco-tourism enthusiasts. Interestingly, between 2006 and 2013, the bathing area in Pogorzelica was awarded the Blue Flag for the cleanliness and quality of its waters. The area is surrounded by numerous pine forests, and nearby are Lakes Liwia Łuża and Konarzewo, known for their natural values. In the village, as a result of the Rewal municipality's efforts, there is an auxiliary unit – the Pogorzelica Village Council, and residents elect a village head and a village council. In the context of modern investments, the construction of the Baltic Pipe gas pipeline was planned near Pogorzelica, highlighting the region's infrastructure development. Thanks to its location, attractive beaches, and rich history, Pogorzelica is an ideal place for a summer vacation, combining natural, cultural, and historical values.
