The Polish Motorboating and Water Skiing Association (PZMWiNW) has gained prominence on the international sports scene, achieving numerous successes since 2014, winning medals at world and European championships, with a peak result of 31 medals in 2022. Established in 1957 as the Polish Motorboating Association, it changed its name in 1973 to include water skiing. Over the years, the association has expanded, partly due to the liberalization of foreign travel after 1989. PZMWiNW participates in international sports federations such as the UIM and IWWF, and its members hold important positions within these organizations. The association's goals include the development of motorboating sports and the organization of competitions. It oversees various disciplines, including motorboating, water skiing, wakeboarding, and water scooters. Interestingly, water skiing consists of three events: slalom, trick skiing, and jumping. Meanwhile, wakeboarding, a relatively young discipline, combines elements of water skiing and skateboarding. PZMWiNW emphasizes the development of water sports, recreation, and tourism in Poland, with a mission to promote a healthy lifestyle and increase environmental awareness among the public.
