The Museum of the Poznań Army, a branch of the Greater Poland Museum of Independence, is located in Poznań's Citadel Park, within the casemates of the former Fort Winiary. The western viaduct, which houses the museum, was built in the 1830s and partially dismantled after World War I. The museum opened on August 31, 1982, as a branch of the Museum of the History of the Workers' Movement, and years later, it was transformed into the Museum of the "Poznań" Army. The exhibition "Faithful to the Oath" focuses on the combat trail of the "Poznań" Army, with particular emphasis on the Battle of the Bzura. The display features archival photographs, documents, and military items such as machine guns, mortars, and elements of weaponry. The museum was closed from 2010 to 2013 due to poor technical condition but reopened to visitors after renovations. Opening hours are from Tuesday to Sunday, with regular tickets costing 10 PLN and reduced tickets 6 PLN, which may also grant entry to the Museum of Armament. Both institutions offer free admission on Fridays. It is worth noting that the exhibition's title refers to the war memoirs of Cavalry Captain Zbigniew Szacherski, adding a personal dimension to the display.
