Prażmów is a rural municipality located in the Masovian Voivodeship, within the Piaseczno County, boasting a rich history and a distinctive character. Over the years, it has undergone changes in name and administrative structures, with its historical roots dating back to before 1952, when it was part of the Wągrodno municipality. Since December 30, 1999, the seat of the municipality has been Prażmów, previously held by Wola Prażmowska. According to 2004 data, the municipality was home to 8,312 people, with the largest localities including Ustanów, Gabryelin, and Prażmów. Prażmów features a diverse land structure, where 68% is agricultural land and 21% is covered by forests. The municipality constitutes 16.99% of the total area of Piaseczno County. The municipality borders the municipalities of Chynów, Góra Kalwaria, Grójec, Piaseczno, and Tarczyn.
