wikipedia
Prądocin is a village in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, situated on Lake Jezuickie near the Bydgoszcz Forest. With a rich history dating back to the 16th century, the locality was originally known as Ryczywieś, and after the introduction of Dutch colonization in the 18th century, it was called Brühlsdorf. In 1920, after Poland regained independence, it adopted its current name. Prądocin is characterized by preserved 19th-century buildings, including residential houses listed in the heritage register. The village serves a recreational function, and on Lake Jezuickie, there are allotment gardens popular among residents of nearby Bydgoszcz. In the past, the village had educational significance; an elementary school operated here, promoting patriotic attitudes. In the 1960s, the village was electrified, and in the following decades, the infrastructure was modernized, a bathing area was arranged, and the community center was reopened. Prądocin is also a point on the tourist Freedom Trail, highlighting its importance in the context of local culture and history. An interesting fact is that after World War I, the inhabitants of Prądocin came under the care of the Catholic parish in nearby Lisewo Kościelne, and within the village, there was a disused Evangelical cemetery. Today, the village is developing, with new housing estates, which testifies to its dynamic transformation.
