wikipedia
Przytuły, a rural commune in the Podlaskie Voivodeship, Łomża County, boasts a rich history dating back to the partitions of Poland. Established in the early 20th century from the territory of the abolished Kubra commune, Gmina Przytuły was initially part of the Kolno County before being incorporated into Łomża County due to administrative reorganization. During the interwar period, the commune was divided into 38 village clusters (gromady), and in 1939 it was annexed to the Warsaw Voivodeship. After World War II, the commune underwent numerous changes, ultimately being abolished in 1954, with its area divided among new village clusters. Gmina Przytuły was reinstated in 1973 but soon abolished again in 1976. It was reestablished once more in 1984, and its structure continued to evolve, gaining and losing various village administrations (sołectwa). Currently, the commune covers an area of 71.18 km², predominantly agricultural land. Modern demographics show a larger population than during the Second Polish Republic, and the commune has acquired interesting village units such as Kubra-Przebudówka and Grzymki. Neighboring communes include Grabowo, Jedwabne, Radziłów, Stawiski, and Wąsosz, forming a network of local connections and cooperation. With its rich heritage and evolving history, Gmina Przytuły is not only a place of local significance but also an important hub for education and entrepreneurship in the region.
