The PTTK "Orlica" Shelter in Zieleńec, situated at the foot of the Orlickie Mountains in Duszniki-Zdrój, is a tourist facility established in the second half of the 19th century, most likely in 1878. Initially, it operated as an inn, and after World War II, it was taken over by repatriates. In 1956, the shelter opened its doors to tourists following a renovation carried out by the PTTK Cycling Club, with Józef Wrona Jr. serving as its first manager. In 1958, the facility was formally handed over to PTTK and operated as a Tourist Station, and in 1960, it received its current name, "Orlica." The shelter offers 34 overnight accommodations in 2- to 4-person rooms and provides meals. It is an ideal base for tourists, especially in winter, when numerous ski lifts are located nearby. In summer, tourists can take advantage of hiking trails such as the Main Sudeten Trail or the trail to Olešnice in the Czech Republic. Despite its rich historical background and attractive location, in 2015, the shelter was ranked the worst in Poland by the magazine "n.p.m.," primarily due to poor management and frequent closures.
