The Municipality of Kuźnia Raciborska, an urban-rural commune in Poland, is located in the Silesian Voivodeship, within Racibórz County, with its administrative seat in the town of Kuźnia Raciborska. Historically, the area of the municipality lies along the upper course of the Oder River and its right tributary, the Ruda River. Kuźnia Raciborska, formerly known as Raciborska Kuźnia, borders the municipalities of Bierawa, Pilchowice, Sośnicowice, the city of Rybnik, and the municipality of Nędza. The Oder River marks the western boundary of the municipality, adjacent to which are the municipalities of Rudnik, Cisek, and Bierawa. The town is situated in the Racibórz Basin and the northwestern part of the Rybnik Plateau, giving it a picturesque character and an abundance of natural landscapes. In 1993, the Cistercian Landscape Compositions of Rudy Wielkie Landscape Park was established, further highlighting the architectural and natural values of the region. The municipality features several tourist trails, including the Polish Hussar Trail and the Circular Trail around Gliwice, attracting enthusiasts of tourism and history. The municipality offers a rich cultural program with institutions such as the Municipal Public Library, the Municipal Center for Culture, Sports, and Recreation, and the Municipal Tourism and Promotion Center in Rudy. In terms of education, the municipality has three kindergartens and two primary schools. According to 2019 data, the population of the municipality was 11,768, and in 2020, the unemployment rate stood at 206 people. Kuźnia Raciborska also boasts a well-developed transport infrastructure, including provincial roads and a railway station. Nearby airports further facilitate access to other regions. An interesting fact is that the municipality covers 23.32% of the area of Racibórz County and has a significant share of forest land, which constitutes 73% of the municipality's area, giving it a unique natural and architectural character.
