wikipedia
The Regional Chamber of Local History in Kolonowskie is a unique museum facility, housed in a wooden cottage dating back to 1780, making it the oldest building in the town. Originally located near a now-defunct smelter, the building served as both a residence for the smelter's manager and an office space. After the smelter was closed in 1945, the property was taken over by the Andrzej Smelter and repurposed for use as an Evangelical school and rental apartments. In 1998, the building became the property of the Kolonowskie municipality, and its restoration began in 1996 thanks to the efforts of local activists, including Pastor Wolfgang Globisch and members of the Kolping Family Association. As a result of these efforts, the cottage was transformed into a museum chamber, and in 2009, the roof was renovated. The chamber houses a rich collection of exhibits related to the history of Kolonowskie, including documents, smelting tools, household and agricultural equipment, and school textbooks, while agricultural machinery is displayed in a separate pavilion. An interesting feature is the monument of Filip Colonna, the town's founder, located in front of the cottage. The facility is part of the "Moravian-Polish Paths of Tradition and Discovery" trail, established by the Local Action Group "Land of Dinosaurs," highlighting its cultural and touristic significance in the region.
