wikipedia
The Regional Ethnographic Museum in Góra Kalwaria is a private institution founded in 1989 by Bożena and Wojciech Prus-Wiśniowski, members of the Society of Friends of Góra Kalwaria and Czersk. The museum is located in a private building in the so-called "Zion" area, a place of historical significance where the buildings of a Dominican monastery once stood. The museum's exhibition is rich and diverse, featuring numerous copies of documents related to the town's history, militaria from the interwar and post-war periods, local crafts, and a variety of folk and monastic costumes, including Dominican and Franciscan attire. The natural history exhibition includes shells, insects, reptiles, and mammals. The museum also features an outdoor exhibition showcasing 19th and 20th-century crafts and glacial erratics brought from various regions of Poland and abroad. As a place where local and religious cultures meet, the museum presents both the tangible and intangible heritage of the region. Interestingly, visits to the museum are only possible by prior arrangement with the owners, giving the place a unique and personal character.
