Pokój is a rural municipality located in the Opole Voivodeship, within Namysłów County, with its administrative seat in the village of Pokój. The municipality covers an area of 132.97 km², of which 41% is agricultural land and 49% is forested. Between 1975 and 1998, the municipality was part of the Opole Voivodeship. As of June 30, 2004, the population was 5,584, but according to data from 2017 and 2019, this number decreased to 5,272 and 5,178 residents, respectively. Administratively, the municipality consists of 14 village districts, including Dąbrówka Dolna, Domaradz, Lubnów, and Zieleniec, as well as several smaller settlements such as Jagienna, Kozuby, and Świercowskie. Pokój is home to several architecturally and historically significant landmarks, including an Evangelical church built between 1765 and 1775, a mid-19th-century parsonage, the Masztalerz House, and an 18th/19th-century park featuring both French and English gardens. The municipality is also culturally intriguing due to its diverse history and traditions, which undoubtedly shape the local community. Additionally, Pokój maintains a partnership with the town of Hochspeyer in Germany. The municipality borders Dobrzeń Wielki, Domaszowice, Murów, Popielów, Świerczów, and Wołczyn, fostering cultural exchange and inter-municipal cooperation.
