wikipedia
The Parish of St. Stanislaus the Bishop in Fałkowice is a Roman Catholic religious community located in the Diocese of Opole, within the Zagwiździe deanery. The current church, built in the Neo-Gothic style between 1881 and 1882, has a history dating back even earlier, with the first churches mentioned in 1510 and 1652. The parish encompasses 11 villages with a total population of approximately 1,500 residents, comprising both indigenous and migrant communities, which contributes to its liturgical diversity. On the first Saturday of each month, a Mass is celebrated in German to accommodate the needs of parishioners with migratory backgrounds. The community venerates numerous saints, with particularly vibrant celebrations during feast days and traditions such as the pilgrimage to Dobrzeń Wielki in honor of St. Roch. The parish is known for its fruitful vocations, including missionaries serving in Africa. Pastors, such as former parish priests Fr. Józef Bałabuch and Fr. Joachim Solga, have significantly contributed to the community's growth. The most recent parish mission took place in 2016, and the parish actively engages in spiritual life through various groups, including the Liturgical Service Ministry (LSO) and the Parish Caritas Team. Fałkowice is also home to schools and kindergartens that support children's education. Among cultural events, the 2017 concert by Eleni stands out, attracting nearly two thousand attendees. Thus, the parish serves not only as a spiritual center but also as a culturally and socially significant institution in the region.
