wikipedia
Rydlówka, a historic manor house in Bronowice Małe, was built in 1894 by the painter Włodzimierz Tetmajer. It was here, on November 20, 1900, that the wedding of Lucjan Rydel and Jadwiga Mikołajczykówna took place, which became the inspiration for Stanisław Wyspiański's drama "The Wedding" (Wesele). Initially, the manor was a single-story wooden building with a porch and a thatched roof. In 1908, after changes in ownership and modernization of the building, its new owner, Lucjan Rydel, commissioned a reconstruction of the property according to a design by Józef Pokutyński. In 1968, Rydlówka was damaged by a fire, and after renovations in 1969, the Regional Museum of Young Poland was established there. For years, it was managed by the Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society. In 2016, the museum came under the care of the Historical Museum of the City of Kraków, and it reopened on November 20, 2018. The exhibition includes interiors related to the culture of Young Poland, such as the common room, dance hall, wedding chamber, and alcove, where memorabilia associated with the wedding guests and portraits of the Rydel family are displayed. Every year, on the anniversary of the wedding, the event "Planting of the Straw Effigy" (Osadzenie chochoła) takes place, reflecting the cultural tradition and memory of these historical events. Rydlówka is an important site on the cultural map of Kraków, connecting architectural and artistic traditions within the context of Polish history and literature.
