Rytwiany is a rural commune located in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, within Staszów County, with its administrative seat in the village of the same name. The commune boasts a rich history dating back at least to the 1920s, when in 1925 the settlement of Staszówek was separated from the community of Rytwiany and incorporated into the town of Staszów. Until 1998, the commune belonged to the Tarnobrzeg Voivodeship. As of June 30, 2009, the commune had a population of 6,287 inhabitants. Rytwiany is characterized by a diverse landscape, with 44% of its total area of 126.27 km² dedicated to agricultural land and 48% to forest land. The commune covers 13.65% of the area of Staszów County. In Rytwiany, one can observe traces of a rich cultural heritage, reflected in the architecture of local buildings and the traditions of its residents.
