Rzeczniów is a rural commune located in the Masovian Voivodeship, within Lipsko County, with its administrative seat in the village of Rzeczniów. Between 1975 and 1998, the commune was part of the Radom Voivodeship. The most significant historical site in the commune is Grabowiec, which obtained town rights in 1601 and was transformed into a village in 1870. According to data from the end of 2012, the commune had a population of 4,637. In the past, during the time of the Kingdom of Poland, the commune belonged to Iłża County in the Radom Governorate, and its territory also included the abolished town of Grabowiec. Rzeczniów Commune covers an area of 103.69 km², of which 80% is agricultural land and 15% is forested. It constitutes 13.87% of the area of Lipsko County. The commune includes numerous sołectwa (administrative villages) such as Ciecierówka, Dubrawa, Grabowiec, and Rybiczyzna, as well as other smaller settlements, including Berkowizna and Kalinów Mały. The commune's educational infrastructure includes the Municipal and County Public Library in Rzeczniów, two primary schools, and a public kindergarten. Rzeczniów borders other communes, such as Brody, Ciepielów, Iłża, and Sienno, which fosters its development and neighborly cooperation. With its rich history and diversity of localities, Rzeczniów is an important cultural element of the region, offering both residents and tourists various attractions related to nature and local heritage.
