The Rzeszów Południe Deanery, established on September 21, 2004, by decree of Bishop Kazimierz Górny, consists of nine parishes that previously belonged to the abolished deaneries of Rzeszów II and Rzeszów IV. The first dean of this deanery was Fr. Stanisław Tomkowicz. The parishes in the deanery are diverse in character and architecture, reflecting the region's rich religious and cultural heritage. The most significant architectural elements are the churches, which showcase both modern and traditional building styles. Each of the parishes, such as Rzeszów – Blessed Karolina Kózka, Rzeszów – Blessed Jerzy Popiełuszko, and Rzeszów – Holy Family (Missionaries of the Holy Family), has its unique architectural features and interiors richly adorned with works of sacred art. It is worth noting the inclusion of a military-civilian parish, which highlights the spiritual diversity of the deanery. Culturally, the deanery promotes events related to religious rites and local traditions, fostering community integration and intergenerational exchange. Parish communities organize numerous festivals, fairs, and other events that attract both residents and tourists. The history of the deanery is also underscored by the presence of filial churches, which are often sites of significant historical and devotional value. Interestingly, Rzeszów, the city at the heart of the deanery, has witnessed dynamic development and transformations that have shaped local religious life. In recent years, churches and parishes have gained new vitality through various initiatives, including renovation and educational projects. The communities practice cooperation and dialogue with other religions and traditions, making the Rzeszów Południe Deanery an important place not only for Catholics but also for all those seeking spiritual inspiration.
