Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport named after the Ulma Family, located in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, 14 km from Rzeszów, is an international airport known for having the second-longest runway in Poland, measuring 3,200 meters. Opened in 1941, the airport has undergone numerous changes over the years, including management reorganizations and infrastructure upgrades. A new passenger terminal was opened in 2013, and in 2023, the construction of a railway line to the airport was completed, significantly improving accessibility. The airport played a key role during the Russian invasion of Ukraine, serving as a crucial hub for international aid. In 2022, it received the title of Small Airport of the Year. Interestingly, it has hosted some of the world's largest aircraft, including the An-225 Mriya, as well as planes such as the Boeing C-17 Globemaster III and the Bell-Boeing V-22 Osprey. The airport is home to an Air Traffic Control Center and a meteorological radar, highlighting its technological importance. Surrounding the airport are Podkarpackie logistics centers and the Aeropolis technology park, creating favorable conditions for business development. Thanks to its achievements, status, and regional impact, the airport holds significant historical and cultural importance. In March 2024, it was named after the Ulma Family, further strengthening its local cultural context.
