wikipedia
Rzuchowa is a village in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship with a rich history dating back to the 14th century, when it was founded by the Gryfit family. The name of the locality has its roots in the personal name "Rżuch" and refers to ancient plant names. Throughout its history, the village underwent various changes in ownership, including the Różańce Dębickie family and the Dietl family, whose members played a key role in the development of the local community. Architecturally, it stands out with its 17th-century manor and park complex, surrounded by a 19th-century park that requires revitalization. The village also features a chapel of St. Catherine and the remains of a wooden chapel dedicated to St. Stanislaus. During the interwar period, Rzuchowa was renowned for its production of vegetables and fruits, serving as an important supply base for Tarnów. The villagers developed fruit-growing traditions, which were recognized at national exhibitions and contributed to the introduction of agritourism. In the 20th century, the locality experienced difficult times, particularly during World War II, when mass executions took place. After the war, the estate was divided, and in the 1990s, the manor was adapted into a social care home. Rzuchowa is also the place where "Rzuchowa butter" was produced, recognized as the best regional product. Modern village life is shaped by local traditions and institutions, such as the Volunteer Fire Department (OSP), established in 1951. Figures associated with Rzuchowa, such as Józef Dietl, the founder of the school, and Jan Pasadyn, the village mayor, contributed to its social and cultural development. Today, the village focuses on promoting regional products and preserving agricultural traditions.
