Sędziszów

Sędziszów is an urban-rural municipality in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, within Jędrzejów County, established in the 1990s. The seat of the municipality is the town of Sędziszów, which covers an area of 7.92 km², while the entire municipality spans 145.65 km². The area is characterized by a significant agricultural structure, with 76% of the land being farmland and 15% covered by forests. In 2020, the municipality had a population of 12,518. Sędziszów is located in the southwestern part of the voivodeship, within the Miechów Basin. The region is home to relics of a medieval stronghold dating back to the 13th century, where archaeological excavations have revealed remains of building structures and everyday objects. Among the architectural attractions, the Baroque parish church of St. Peter and Paul, built between 1771 and 1786, stands out, along with other historic sites such as manor houses, chapels, and buildings from the German era. The municipality also preserves other elements of cultural heritage, including the manor complex in Pawłowice, which features a brick palace from the late 19th century and a park.
