Sędziszów is a town located in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, in the Jędrzejów County, with a rich history dating back to the 13th century. It is the seat of the urban-rural municipality and covers an area of 7.92 km², inhabited by 6,141 people. Historical records mention Sędziszów as the property of knights and nobility, with notable figures such as Stanczko de Sędziszów and families like the Kościeńskis and Kamińskis. In the 15th century, the town had a wooden church, and the current Baroque parish church dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul was built between 1771 and 1786. Over the centuries, Sędziszów flourished as an important railway hub, with a developed station and housing estates for railway workers. In the 19th century, the town was supported by local landowners who invested in infrastructure, contributing to its growth. After World War II, the Sefako Boiler Factory was established in Sędziszów, which is now one of the leading manufacturers of power boilers in Poland. Culturally, the town thrives thanks to the Jan Pawła II Municipal Cultural Center, which hosts a variety of events and activities of folk ensembles. Sędziszów also has a strong sports tradition, with the Unia Sędziszów club. Among its historic landmarks are the Baroque church, a 19th-century rectory, and a manor house with a park, which now houses a care and treatment facility. Interestingly, in 2023, the well-known YouTuber Wojciech "Major" Suchodolski passed away in Sędziszów. The town is also home to various religious communities, including the Roman Catholic Church and Jehovah's Witnesses. Sędziszów gained town rights in 1990, which further contributed to its social and cultural development.
