The Sabnie Commune, located in the Masovian Voivodeship within the Sokołów County, has a rich history dating back to the Middle Ages, when its lands were part of Poland, and later belonged to Ruthenia and Lithuania. The seat of the commune is the village of Sabnie. According to spatial data, the commune covers an area of 107.92 km², dominated by agricultural land (74%) and forests (21%), and constitutes 9.54% of the county's area. In 2004, it was inhabited by 4,040 people. The commune boasts numerous historical monuments, including an 11th-century fortified settlement in Niewiadoma and manor complexes in Kupientyn, Grodzisk, and Kurowice, which are valuable elements of local architecture and history. An important cultural aspect is the presence of numerous churches, such as the Holy Trinity Church in Grodzisk and the Parish of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Nieciecz Włościańska. The commune is committed to education, with the Public School Complex in Sabnie and several primary schools and kindergartens, reflecting its care for younger generations. Between 2010 and 2013, the Niewiadoma Reservoir was built on the Cetynia River, which may be an interesting point for nature and recreation enthusiasts.
