Piaski is an urban-rural municipality in Poland, located in the Lublin Voivodeship, within Świdnik County, with its administrative seat in the town of the same name. From 1975 to 1998, the municipality belonged administratively to the Lublin Voivodeship. It forms part of the Lublin agglomeration. The municipality has a rich history dating back to the times of the Kingdom of Poland, when it was part of Lublin County in the Lublin Governorate. In 1870, Piaski was incorporated into the municipality after being stripped of its town rights. According to data from June 30, 2004, the municipality had a population of 10,834. In terms of land use, based on 2002 data, the municipality covers an area of 169.73 km², of which 84% is agricultural land and 11% is forested. Piaski Municipality protects natural values, including the Wierzchowiska Nature Reserve, which safeguards unique forest soils and rare plant species. The municipality comprises several villages, such as Borkowszczyzna, Brzezice, Bystrzejowice, Gardzienice, Wierzchowiska, and Wola Gardzienicka. Nearby municipalities include Fajsławice, Głusk, Jabłonna, Krzczonów, Mełgiew, Milejów, Rybczewice, and Trawniki.
