Krzczonowski Landscape Park, established in 1990, is located in the Lublin Voivodeship on the Giełczew Upland. It covers an area of 124.21 km², with an additional buffer zone of 138.54 km². The park features a rolling terrain with numerous ravines and over a dozen denudational sandstone outcrops, the highest of which rises to 281 meters above sea level. The Giełczew River flows through the park, along with its tributary, the Radomirka, and the Olszanka stream. It is an important spring area, with 45 natural springs, highlighting the richness of the local ecosystem. Forests cover 24.8% of the park's area, including oak-hornbeam forests, mixed forests, light oak woodlands, and riparian forests. The largest forest complexes are the Chmielowski Forest and the Królewski Forest. The park is home to many protected bird species, such as ravens, buzzards, and black woodpeckers, as well as tree frogs and fire-bellied toads. Within the park, there are nature reserves: Las Królewski, which protects rare xerothermic plants; Chmiel, a sanctuary for monumental trees; and Olszanka, with its ancient oak forest. Additionally, the landscape and nature complexes "Szabałowa Góra" and "Kamienny Wąwóz" have been established, emphasizing the park's exceptional scenic values. Krzczonowski Landscape Park not only captivates with its nature but also serves as an important element of local cultural and historical heritage. It is a destination for recreation and tourism, attracting nature enthusiasts and those seeking to immerse themselves in the richness of Polish flora and fauna.
