wikipedia
The Maria Konopnicka School and Preschool Complex No. 2 in Grodzisk Mazowiecki is an educational institution with a long history dating back to 1920, when it was established in a small building on Niepodległości Street. In 1922, the school was named after the Polish writer Maria Konopnicka, and in 1930, it moved to a new, fourteen-room building on Elektryczna Street. During World War II, the school suffered damage, and classes were held in private homes. After the war, in 1945, the complex was rebuilt and resumed its operations, and in 1970, it received a new banner. In the 1970s, the number of students decreased, and the school changed locations several times until a new building was opened on Miła Street in 1990. In 1997, the School and Preschool Complex No. 2 was established, combining the primary school with the preschool. Students of the school participated in various cultural events, and in 1995, on the occasion of the school's 75th anniversary, a bas-relief of Maria Konopnicka was unveiled. In the following years, the building was modernized, and new amenities were introduced, such as an elevator and a new wing for grades 1–3, which was opened in 2020. Among its notable alumni are Leonid Teliga – a sailor and writer, and Miłosz Redzimski – a talented table tennis player. As an important educational center in Grodzisk Mazowiecki, the school continues its rich tradition and fosters the development of its students through diverse educational programs and extracurricular activities.
