wikipedia
Siekowo is a village located in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, in the Wolsztyn County, known for its rich history dating back to at least the 13th century. Originally associated with ducal ownership, the village later came into the hands of the nobility, including the Siekowski family, who took their surname from the village. It is worth noting that the village held regional significance, as evidenced by numerous 15th-century court documents that depict the lives of its inhabitants, their disputes, and their properties. During the Second Partition of Poland, Siekowo fell under Prussian rule, which influenced the village's development. In the 19th century, it had a population of 312. Architecturally, the palace built between 1878 and 1879 in the French Renaissance style is noteworthy. It is situated in a 15-hectare park surrounded by unique trees. Nearby, there is also a granary dating back to 1846. An interesting feature is the 30-meter wooden observation tower on Winna Góra, which is the highest point in Greater Poland. On clear days, it offers a view of the peak of Śnieżka. With its characteristic rural architecture and unique natural elements, Siekowo is a typical example of a Greater Poland village. Additionally, the village is located within a Protected Landscape Area, highlighting its natural values.
