The Przemęt Commune, located in the Greater Poland Voivodeship within the Wolsztyn County, was established in 1976 through the merger of the Bucz and Mochy communes. Between 1976 and 1998, it belonged to the Leszno Voivodeship. Its administrative seat is the town of Przemęt. According to data from the end of 2019, the commune has a population of 14,137, reflecting a balanced demographic structure with a slight majority of men. Situated on the Greater Poland Lowland, nearly half of its area is part of the Przemęt Landscape Park, which serves as a significant natural asset. The commune covers an area of 22,531 hectares, of which approximately 25% is agricultural land and 4.5% is occupied by lakes. Przemęt also boasts a rich structure of village administrations, including Błotnica, Borek, Górsko, and Sokołowice. An interesting fact is that the commune includes forest ranger settlements, such as Przemęt-Leśniczówka and Radomierz-Leśniczówka. The Przemęt Commune also engages in international cooperation with its German partner city, Bestensee, highlighting its active role in cross-border collaboration.
