Sierpc Commune, located in the Masovian Voivodeship within Sierpc County, boasts a rich historical and cultural heritage. It was formed through the merger of the Białyszewo and Borkowo communes, with its administrative seat in the town of Sierpc. Between 1975 and 1998, the commune belonged to the Płock Voivodeship. According to data from June 30, 2004, the commune had a population of 7,215 and covered an area of 150.23 km², of which 77% was agricultural land and 16% forests. The commune accounted for 17.61% of the total area of Sierpc County. The localities within the commune include numerous village councils (sołectwa), as well as settlements without such status, such as Karolewo and Kwaśno. Architecturally, the commune is distinguished by traditional rural buildings and several interesting structures that reflect local culture and history. From a historical perspective, the area is known for its rich agricultural traditions, which are also reflected in the demographic and social structure of the region. Interestingly, in 2014, Sierpc Commune had a diverse population age pyramid, suggesting a stable community with multiple generations present. It is surrounded by neighboring communes such as Gozdowo, Mochowo, Rościszewo, Skępe, Szczutowo, and Zawidz, placing it within a broader regional context.
