The municipality of Siewierz, located in the Silesian Voivodeship within Będzin County, is an urban-rural administrative unit covering an area of 115.76 km², with land use comprising 55% agricultural areas and 30% forested areas. Between 1975 and 1998, the municipality was part of the Katowice Voivodeship, and its administrative seat is the town of Siewierz. In 2004, the municipality had a population of 12,238. Historically, Siewierz has roots dating back to the Middle Ages, as documented by Jan Długosz, who between 1470 and 1480 referred to the locality in its Latinized forms as *Syewyor* and *Szyewyor*. Siewierz and its surroundings are known for their rich cultural and architectural heritage, including historic churches, manor houses, and other landmarks that reflect the region's history. Among the villages within the municipality are Brudzowice, Wojkowice Kościelne, and Tuliszów, while other settlements include Czekanka, Dzierżawa, and Kuźnica Warężyńska. The municipality of Siewierz borders neighboring municipalities such as Dąbrowa Górnicza, Koziegłowy, Łazy, and Myszków, making it a strategically important location within the region.
