Skarżysko Kościelne is a rural municipality located in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, known for its rich history and valuable monuments. The seat of the municipality, Skarżysko Kościelne, plays an important role for the local community, which had a population of 5,988 people at the end of 2019. Among the notable landmarks is the parish church of the Holy Trinity from 1657, surrounded by historic monuments. It is also worth noting the 19th-century chapel in Świerczek, founded by the January Uprising insurgents, as well as the chapel in Grzybowa Góra, commemorating the battles of 1863. An interesting object is the 1829 triangulation geodetic marker, built on the initiative of Professor Franciszek Armiński for the triangulation measurements of the Old Polish Industrial Basin. The municipality has a rich administrative history, functioning since 1867 with interruptions, and its area has been repeatedly modified due to administrative changes. Villages such as Jagodne and Kierz Niedźwiedzi are now part of the municipality, and an additional asset is its partnership with Beltinci. Skarżysko Kościelne is not only a place of architectural value but also a testament to rich cultural and historical traditions that attract both residents and tourists.
