Skarszewy is an urban-rural municipality located in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, within the Starogard County, with its seat in the town of Skarszewy. From 1975 to 1998, it was part of the Gdańsk Voivodeship. The municipality comprises 19 villages, including Bączek, Bolesławowo, and Bożepole Królewskie, and covers an area of 169.79 km², of which 66% is agricultural land and 22% is forested. In 2004, the municipality had a population of 13,906. The area is naturally diverse, offering a variety of opportunities for tourism and recreation. It is home to the Brzęczek Nature Reserve, which protects unique ecosystems. Skarszewy borders several other municipalities, such as Liniewo, Nowa Karczma, and Starogard Gdański. The town has a rich history, reflected in its architecture, with many traditional buildings still standing today.
