Skoczów

The municipality of Skoczów, located in the Silesian Voivodeship, in Cieszyn County, consists of the town of Skoczów and 10 village administrative districts. Its area is 63.27 km², with agricultural land (63%) and forests (22%) dominating. Skoczów constitutes 8.66% of the county's area. As an urban-rural municipality, it has had various administrative affiliations throughout its history, and between 1975 and 1998, it belonged to the Bielsko Voivodeship. The seat of the municipality, the town of Skoczów, is an important local center. In 2004, it was inhabited by 25,518 people, and by 2017, this number had increased to 26,897 residents. The municipality borders towns and villages such as Brenna, Chybie, Dębowiec, Goleszów, Jasienica, Strumień, and Ustroń.
