W skrócie

wikipedia
Solec is an area and housing estate within the Śródmieście district of Warsaw, bounded by the viaduct of the średnicowy bridge, Marshal Edward Rydz-Śmigły Park, Myśliwiecka Street, Łazienkowska Street, and the bank of the Vistula River. The history of Solec dates back to 1381, when it was first mentioned in documents, and in 1675, the jurydyka of Solec was established here, which obtained town rights. The center of the jurydyka was a market square with a town hall and the Holy Trinity Church. In the 18th century, Solec developed dynamically; among other things, the Symonowicz Palace was built, as well as warehouses and breweries. Industry in Solec began to develop in the 19th century when numerous industrial plants were located here, including Warsaw's first gasworks. During World War II, Solec, being part of Warsaw, witnessed brutal fighting during the Warsaw Uprising in 1944. After the war, the area underwent deindustrialization, and today Solec is an attractive area for developers, resulting in the creation of modern residential and office investments. Since 2006, intensive urban development has been observed, including the construction of high-standard buildings. Among the interesting facts, it is worth mentioning that Solec is home to the Museum of Asia and the Pacific, and a river shipyard once operated here, giving the area a unique historical and cultural character.
