The Municipality of Sośnicowice, located in the Silesian Voivodeship within Gliwice County, is an urban-rural municipality covering an area of 116.24 km², predominantly characterized by forest land (59%) and agricultural land (35%). With its seat in Sośnicowice, the municipality boasts a rich history dating back to the post-war period when it was established in December 1945 as part of the provincial administration. Over the years, the municipality underwent structural changes: in 1975, some of its villages were incorporated into Gliwice, and it ultimately returned to Gliwice County in 1999. In 2017, the municipality had a population of 8,821. Sośnicowice features an educational network that includes eight kindergartens and four primary schools, reflecting efforts to develop education in the region. The municipality is well-connected, with bus services operated by KZK GOP and ZGKiM, ensuring convenient access to neighboring cities.
