The Collegiate Church of St. Adalbert and St. Catherine in Jaworzno is a brick temple built in 1532, though it has undergone numerous reconstructions over the centuries, most recently in the 1990s according to a design by Professor Wiktor Zin. Since 1997, it has served as the seat of the Jaworzno Collegiate Chapter, with its patrons being St. Adalbert and St. Catherine of Alexandria. Notable features include a Baroque main altar made of black marble from the 17th century, which was brought in the 19th century from St. Michael's Church in Kraków. The altar houses a copy of an 18th-century painting of St. Joseph. Another highlight is the largest triangular stained-glass window in Europe, covering an area of 177 m² and standing 18.5 meters tall, with St. Adalbert as its central figure. Designed by Jerzy Skąpski and crafted by Anna and Ireneusz Zarzycki in 1997, it commemorates the millennium of the saint’s death. The collegiate church also houses the miraculous image of Our Lady of Jaworzno, painted in Naples in 1666. This site blends religious significance with rich history, underscoring its cultural and architectural value in the region.
