The Parish of St. Alexander in Warsaw was established in 1820 and belongs to the Śródmieście Deanery within the Archdiocese of Warsaw. Its parish church, built in the 19th century, has been repeatedly rebuilt after wartime destruction, reflecting both its historical significance and the commitment of local communities to preserving their heritage. Within the parish, there are four chapels: the Chapel of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, the Chapel of Our Lady in the private Cecylia Plater-Zyberkówna School, the Chapel of Our Lady Queen of Poland in the Belweder Palace, and the Chapel of the Mother of God, Mother of the Church, located within the Sejm (Polish Parliament) complex. Historically, the parish rectory played an important role as the seat of the Apostolic Nunciature to Poland from 1919 to 1924. The parish is served by diocesan priests, with past parish priests including Fr. Tadeusz Balewski (2000–2020) and the current pastor, Fr. Mirosław Jaworski, who has held the position since 2020. The Parish of St. Alexander is a significant landmark on Warsaw’s cultural and religious map, serving as a place where the history and tradition of the Catholic Church intersect with the life of the modern community.
