The Parish of St. Kinga in Krakow, established on July 22, 2001, by Cardinal Franciszek Macharski, is located in the Podgórze district at Siemomysła Street and belongs to the Krakow-Podgórze deanery of the Archdiocese of Krakow. The parish church, constructed between 2003 and 2014, was consecrated by Cardinal Stanisław Dziwisz on May 19, 2007. Inside the church, low-gluten communion is available. Architecturally modern, with a contemporary style, the building attracts attention with its planned bell tower construction. The church interior hosts numerous services and prayers, such as Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and novenas to Our Lady of Perpetual Help, as well as annual events dedicated to the veneration of St. Kinga. The parish actively engages in cultural and spiritual life, offering various communities including a parish choir, children's choirs, Domestic Church circles, and the Light-Life Movement, fostering integration and deepening of faith. The parish house features a common room, a gym, and a library, providing local entertainment and education. An interesting aspect is the common room’s evening recreational activities, such as billiards and ping-pong, along with weekly fitness classes for women. Significant events in the parish’s history include the first Mass celebrated in the new church in 2004 and the laying of the cornerstone by Cardinal Dziwisz in 2005, a stone taken from the tomb of St. Kinga. Over the years, parish leadership has changed, starting with the first pastor, Fr. Bogusław Filipiak, who served until 2011, to the current pastor, Fr. Jacek Konieczny, who arrived in 2017 and was previously associated with the Archdiocese of Krakow as director of the Family Pastoral Office. The parish also covers a territory encompassing many local streets, underscoring its strong presence in the community. The parish’s activities unite clergy and residents, creating a space for community, prayer, and culture.
