St. Michael the Archangel Church in Płazów

The Church of Saint Michael the Archangel is a Roman Catholic parish church located in the Narol deanery of the Zamość-Lubaczów diocese. Built in 1818 from stone and brick, it features a single nave with a rectangular presbytery. Consecrated in 1843, it has served the local community as a vital center of religious life. Architecturally, it stands out for its harmonious proportions and simple form, characteristic of the era in which it was constructed. Renovation work carried out between 2009 and 2011 included replacing the asbestos roof with copper sheeting and reinforcing all walls, ensuring the building’s durability for years to come. Additionally, a new façade was completed, and in 2014, new windows were installed, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the structure. The Church of Saint Michael the Archangel is not only a place of worship but also a significant historical and cultural landmark in the region, reflecting the traditions and values of the local community. Interestingly, despite the passage of time, the church has retained its original functions while adapting to modern standards, making it both a living witness to history and an open space for contemporary religious practices.
