The Church of St. Roch and St. John the Baptist in Brochów is a historic Gothic-Renaissance three-nave basilica, which is the baptismal site of Frédéric Chopin. Built between 1551 and 1561 with funding from Jan Brochowski, it features a defensive character, with three cylindrical towers resembling castle turrets. The architecture of the temple is distinguished by its barrel vault with rich polychrome paintings and a two-story tunnel gallery, adding to its unique character. The church underwent numerous reconstructions, including after 1655 and during both world wars, when it was repeatedly damaged; in particular, during World War I, it was 70% destroyed and later rebuilt between 1924 and 1929 in a modernist style. An interesting fact is that Nicolas Chopin and Tekla Justyna Krzyżanowska were married in this church, and Frédéric Chopin was baptized here. After the war, between 2008 and 2010, a thorough restoration was carried out, recovering some of the paintings and modest interior furnishings. In the vicinity of the church, there are commemorative plaques honoring the Bar Confederates and participants of the Battle of the Bzura.
