Świerczów is a rural municipality located in the Opole Voivodeship, within the Namysłów County, with its administrative seat in the village of Świerczów. Between 1975 and 1998, the municipality was part of the Opole Voivodeship. According to data from June 30, 2004, it had a population of 3,649, but by the end of 2017, this number had decreased to 3,378, making it the least populous municipality in the region. The municipality covers an area of 110.32 km², of which 64% is agricultural land and 26% is forested, highlighting the significant role of agriculture in the local economy.
