Stanin is a rural commune located in the Lublin Voivodeship, within the Łuków County, with its administrative seat in the village of Stanin. Administratively, the commune was part of the Siedlce Voivodeship between 1975 and 1998. Over the years, the population of the commune has remained relatively stable – in 2005, it was home to 9,807 people, and by the end of 2019, this number had slightly decreased to 9,729. The commune covers an area of 160.25 km², of which 76% is agricultural land and 17% is covered by forests. With its 11.49% share of the county's area, Stanin stands out as an important region for agricultural activity. The commune is rich in regional traditions and culture, reflected in local rituals and customs, as well as in its architecture, which often features typical Polish rural wooden buildings and historic farmsteads.
