Stanisław Staszic's House, known as Staszicówka, is a historic residential building located in Piła at 18 Browarna Street, where Stanisław Staszic – an important figure of the Polish Enlightenment – was likely born in 1755. Built in the mid-18th century by the mayor of Piła, Wawrzyniec Staszic, the building is the only preserved part of the Staszic family estate. After the property was sold in 1794, the house changed hands multiple times, and its farm buildings were destroyed. Its original shape has been preserved, and in 1879, Napoleon Orda immortalized it in a drawing.
Following damage during World War II, reconstruction of the building as a museum began in 1947, and it opened to the public in 1951. Architecturally, Staszic's House is a single-story, basement-level building with five window axes, covered by a gable roof and featuring a two-bay interior layout. The post-war reconstruction introduced a brick structure in place of the original half-timbered wall, though the original cellars and some chimney elements were preserved. A renovation carried out between 1985 and 1986 restored the building’s external appearance.
A commemorative plaque dedicated to Staszic is mounted on the façade, and behind the building lies a garden where summer concerts are held. Although the house has undergone significant reconstruction, it remains the oldest preserved building in Piła and continues to play an important role in the cultural and historical heritage of the region.
