Stoczek Łukowski is a rural municipality located in the Lublin Voivodeship, within the Łuków County. Its origins are deeply rooted in various ethnographic and administrative transformations that have taken place in Poland throughout history. Historically, until 1954, the municipality was known as Gmina Prawda. Between 1975 and 1998, it was part of the Siedlce Voivodeship. The administrative seat of the municipality is the town of Stoczek Łukowski. It is worth noting that from January 1, 1992, to December 31, 1997, the municipality and the town functioned as a single administrative unit as a result of Poland's territorial division reform.
The municipality covers an area of 173.46 km², of which 75% is agricultural land and 19% is forested, making it a significant area for agriculture. According to data from 2004, Stoczek Łukowski had a population of 8,682. Within the municipality lies the Kulak Nature Reserve, which protects diverse plant communities, including rare species such as the long-leaved sundew (Drosera anglica). The municipality also includes numerous villages (sołectwa), such as Aleksandrówka, Błażejki-Ruda, and Stary Jamielnik.
