The Stone Circles Nature Reserve, established on September 15, 1958, is located in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, within the Tuchola Forest, near the village of Odry in the Czersk municipality. It is managed by the Czersk Forest District. In 2020, the reserve was expanded by 4.6 thousand m², and a buffer zone of nearly 50 hectares was designated around it. The reserve covers an area of 16.91 hectares and includes a forest complex that contains a burial site of the Goth tribe, distinguished by characteristic burial mounds and stone circles dating back to the early years of the Common Era. The greatest botanical attraction of the reserve is its lichens, which occur here in great diversity, making this place unique in the Central European Lowlands. The reserve is characterized by two main plant communities: sub-Atlantic heathland and subcontinental pine forest, dominated by 120-year-old pine stands with an admixture of birch. The reserve is located on the tourist Stone Circles Trail and is part of the Tuchola Forest Special Protection Area for birds (PLB220009). Around 85 species of lichens have been recorded in the reserve, half of which are typical of mountainous regions, underscoring its unique character. To reach the reserve, visitors can use the parking area, and the drive from Czersk takes about 10 km. It is also worth visiting the museum dedicated to the Stone Circles in the village of Odry.
