Czersk is an urban-rural municipality located in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, within the Chojnice County. Its history dates back to the years before the administrative reform of 1975, when the municipality was part of the Bydgoszcz Voivodeship. The seat of the municipality is the town of Czersk, which is surrounded by 18 village districts, such as Gotelp, Lipki, Krzyż, and Rytel. In 2014, the municipality was home to over 21,000 people. Czersk is characterized by a diverse land structure, with agricultural land accounting for 29% and forested areas covering 62% of its territory, making it an attractive destination for nature lovers. The municipality includes numerous localities with various attractions, including many forest settlements. The area boasts well-developed transport infrastructure, with three railway lines and a network of national and regional roads, ensuring good connections to larger cities such as Gdańsk, Bydgoszcz, and Chojnice. Bus services are provided by local companies, offering connections to nearby towns. Although water transport is underdeveloped, the Czerska Struga River is ideal for kayaking. Czersk is surrounded by beautiful natural areas and nature reserves, such as the Cisy nad Czerską Strugą Reserve and the Tuchola Landscape Park, which attract hiking and nature observation enthusiasts. The municipality is also bordered by neighboring municipalities like Brusy, Tuchola, and Chojnice, fostering local integration and cooperation.
