The municipality of Stryszawa, located in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship within the Sucha County, covers an area of 113.24 km² and consists of eight villages, including Hucisko, Krzeszów, Kuków, Kurów, Lachowice, Pewelka, Stryszawa, and Targoszów. The municipal seat is in Stryszawa, where local institutions and social life are concentrated. The area features a diverse land structure—46% of the territory is agricultural land, while 48% is covered by forests. Between 1975 and 1998, Stryszawa was part of the Bielsko Voivodeship; today, it constitutes 16.51% of the county's area. Demographically, as of June 30, 2004, the municipality had a population of 11,715. An interesting aspect is the age pyramid of its inhabitants, which reflects demographic changes over the years.
