W skrócie

wikipedia
Strzeszyn is an administrative district and a part of Poznań, characterized by diverse architecture, a history dating back to prehistoric times, and developing infrastructure. Located in the northwestern part of the city, Strzeszyn is divided into four parts: Old Strzeszyn, Literary Strzeszyn, Greek Strzeszyn, and the Military Estate. The area has a rich history, with the first traces of settlement dating back to the 7th–9th centuries, when it was a noble village. As early as the 14th century, it was mentioned as Strzeszyn magna, and in the following centuries, it was home to a mill, a church, a distillery, and a brickyard. Strzeszyn was incorporated into Poznań in 1940, and numerous historical traces remain in the area, including an oak-ash tree avenue designated as a natural monument and remnants of former enterprises. In the 20th century, after the war, the district began to develop intensively, and in 1992, the auxiliary unit of the city – the Strzeszyn Estate – was established. Modern Strzeszyn is a dynamically developing area with architecture focused mainly on single-family, terraced, and multi-family homes. There are also unfinished structures, such as the Budomel skyscraper, which dominates the local landscape. The cultural life of Strzeszyn has been enriched by the establishment of the Parish of St. Padre Pio and the construction of a Social Welfare Home. Among the notable figures associated with the area are architect Jan Kopydłowski, archaeologist Józef Kostrzewski, and singer Natalia Niemen. Despite its potential, Strzeszyn faces transportation issues, which significantly impact the daily lives of its residents.
