Subcarpathian Firefighting Museum in Stara Wieś

The Subcarpathian Firefighting Museum in Stara Wieś is an institution located in the Fireman's House, operating as a branch of the Regional Museum in Brzozów. Founded in 1986 on the initiative of Stanisław Dydek, who served as its social custodian, the museum showcases its exhibits across six halls, featuring extensive collections related to the history of firefighting and folk culture. Among the exhibits are historic firefighting vehicles, including a horse-drawn fire engine from 1928, Dodge trucks from 1950, a Star N71 from 1952, and a motor pump from 1953. The museum also displays a collection of helmets, uniforms, banners, awards, documents, photographs, and other memorabilia connected to the activities of the Fire Service. Historical events and local traditions are further highlighted through exhibitions of tools and everyday objects that illustrate the customs and lives of the region's inhabitants. The museum operates seasonally, opening its doors to visitors from May to September. Also of interest are the commemorative plaques honoring important anniversaries and Stanisław Dydek, underscoring the museum’s significance within the local community.
