Sulejów

Sulejów, an urban-rural municipality in the Łódź Voivodeship, located in the Piotrków County, boasts rich natural and cultural resources. The seat of the municipality is the town of Sulejów, which serves as an important local center. The municipality covers an area of 188.24 km², of which 48% is agricultural land and 41% is forested. Sulejów is also known for two significant nature reserves: the Jabłoniowy Las (Apple Tree Forest), where wild species of fruit trees can be observed, and partially Lubiaszów, which protects valuable forest communities, including fir trees and numerous rare plant species. The municipality is well-connected thanks to two national roads: No. 12 and No. 74, facilitating access to neighboring towns and larger urban areas. Sulejów is a place of significant historical importance. In the past, it was home to important industrial centers and trade routes, which contributed to the region's development. In 2007, the municipality had a population of 15,750, and its demographic structure was diverse, as reflected in the 2014 population age pyramid analysis. In addition to Sulejów, the municipality includes numerous villages, such as Barkowice, Łęczno, and Przygłów, each with its unique features and traditions. Smaller settlements like Adelinów and Winduga also add to the regional character. Neighboring municipalities, such as Mniszków and Wolbórz, create a diverse cultural and socio-economic backdrop, fostering mutual interactions.
