Sulejowski Landscape Park is a landscape park located in the Łódź Voivodeship, established in October 1994, with an area of 17,026 hectares and a buffer zone covering 36,411 hectares. The park is situated in the central part of the Pilica River valley, stretching from Skotniki and Łęg Ręczyński in the south to Smardzewice and Swolszewice Małe in the north. A significant feature of the park is the Sulejów Reservoir, created in the 1970s. The park's territory encompasses areas of the municipalities of Ręczno, Aleksandrów, Tomaszów Mazowiecki, Sulejów, Wolbórz, Mniszków, and the city of Piotrków Trybunalski, indicating rich landscape diversity. Sulejowski Landscape Park, along with Przedborski and Spalski Landscape Parks, forms part of the Nadpiliczne Landscape Parks. The park was established by the decree of the Voivode of Piotrków in July 1994. It is worth noting that 70% of the park's area is covered by forests, while 12% consists of surface waters, including the Sulejów Reservoir. Within the park and its buffer zone, there are 11 nature reserves, including well-known ones such as Błogie and Niebieskie Źródła in Tomaszów Mazowiecki, where various tree species such as firs, beeches, and maples are protected. Interestingly, the park's valleys are characterized by unique calcareous grasslands, peat bogs, and meadows with sandy-peat substrates. Additionally, the Pilica River Recreational Trail runs through the park, offering tourists the opportunity for active leisure in picturesque natural surroundings. The park is an important element of the region's natural heritage, combining environmental protection and recreation, making it an attractive destination for both nature enthusiasts and tourists.
